Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran was born on March 10 1949. She is an American investor, speaker and consultant. The Corcoran Group, an NY-based real estate broker was established by Corcoran. NRT bought it in 2001 for $66 million. Corcoran then exited the business. Corcoran has been a part of 12 episodes of ABC's Shark Tank seasons. She has participated in 53 deals since February of 2020. The biggest was a $350,000 investment to provide 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran was born in Edgewater, New Jersey, the youngest of 10 children in a working class Irish-Catholic family. [8] Her mother, Florence, was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father. He moved between jobs and another throughout Corcoran’s childhood. Her family sometimes relied on free delivery of food from a local grocery store. Corcoran states that her father was a drunken man who did her mother a disservice and condescension. Corcoran was a struggle in school and was later diagnosed with dyslexia. Corcoran was a student at an Catholic primary school within her community and began the high school year at St. Cecilia High School, Englewood. Corcoran completed her studies at Leonia High School with a degree in English after having failed several classes during her first year.
